I now added an additional tar file 'LinuxAos_oldHW.tgz'. It has been compiled
with option --useFPU and modules I386.Math*.Mod instead of XMM.I386.Math*.Mod.

Installed the 5348 LinuxAos_oldHW.tgz on a Sharp Mebius PC-CB1-M1 with 800
MHz mobile AMD Duron cpu and Debian Wheezy.  Sharp released the machine
2001-09.  Aos appears to work but
Oberon.Start Oberon 830x580 4 32 ~
yields only a plain white viewer with no content.  The command doesn't work in
5348?  Something more subtle?

To create a new system which uses FPU instead of SSE the following
two modifications in file "Release.Tool" should be sufficient:

More detailed instructions for building the system are posted somewhere?
I suppose the 5500 FPU system can be built on another machine running
5500 or on this machine running 5348.  Which approach is preferable?

Thanks,                      Peter E.

You can find the build instructions in UnixAos:

   Docu -> UnixAos Build

Do not use repository revisions > 5521!  The compiler of revision 5522
cannot compile itself.

Use a 5500 system. The compiler got changed between 5348 and 5500!
