What current status of Jaos project?
Its web page http://bluebottle.ethz.ch/jaos/index.html is currently unreachable.

This project was abandoned many years ago. That's also why there is no homepage.

That's too bad.  Jaos could potentially resolve some significant deficiencies in A2 such as a lack of a RDMS.  (Note, I once tried using the built in prevalence system as an ODMS.  Someday I may relate that nightmare.  I actually got it to work for what I wanted but it was unstable in various ways.)  I wish I had downloaded Jaos but it was one of those "I really need to check this out someday when I have spare time" kind of things.  Did anyone else download it?  And why not leave it available for others to experiment with?  There are a lot of Oberon packages that are no longer being maintained that are still available and in some cases useful.

Hi,

doku is still available at:

http://web.archive.org/web/20080125061343/http://bluebottle.ethz.ch/jaos/index.html
and
http://web.archive.org/web/20071027232910/www.oberon.ethz.ch/jaos/

since it was also one of mine "I have to get a closer look" project, there is a good chance
that I downloaded Jaos. Otherwise we should contact Patrik Reali and ask if he still has a
copy and we should start a project on OCP or sourceforge ...

http://web.archive.org/web/20060717231123/www.oberon.ethz.ch/jaos/download.html

still has links to the old oberon site.

Alas they still work (but they need sometimes a little bit of hand adjustment):

regards

PS: I contacted Patrik Reali in the meantime. He thinks that it should not be too difficult to reanimate Jaos. He saw more problems in the large development steps casspath has undertaken (0.5 -> 0.98) in the meantime and less problems with Jaos.  (added in June-2010)
