I just tried downloading the VM archive from: http://www.ocp.inf.ethz.ch/wiki/OCP/Downloads
Apparently, there's nothing willing to serve it to me on the other end right now  Embarrassed

I can see other references to hardware issues on this list... though they're old and may be unrelated.

Any chance of getting the file server back up?... or perhaps there's an alternative place (mirror?) to get the latest downloads?

I don't know if it is the latest but you can download a copy from here. The link is at the bottom of the webpage:

Thanks for that!

Looks like this is a version from circa April 2009, but it will get me going anyhow.  Hopefully somebody will get the main download server going again soon.

Looks like the downloads are working again!

Thanks to whoever kicked the hosting machine (or whatever was required to get things going again)!

Mmm... though having said that, I just downloaded the A2VM zip and it seems to contain build 2081 - and old version from early this year I think.
AFAICT there's a new distribution from the middle of the year... but that's only going on what I find on the web site.  It's quite possible that fresh versions of the VM zip file aren't made even as often as what gets noted in the changelog.  ??

You can build a bootimage from the current SVN.
Then run it on a virtual machine (or real)

OK, if self-build is recommended then that's what I'll do.

Ah... these instruction suggest WinAOS is the build/bootstrap environment, but I don't have a Windows installation to do this on.
Maybe that's the end of my build aspirations for the time being.  Thanks anyway.
