Do you mean ftp.inf.ethz.ch? I'm somewhat puzzled by the "http://" prefix in your link...

http://ftp://ftp.inf.ethz.ch works for me. (Ohhh... just realized that the forum adds the "http://" prefix  Angry )

But nevertheless, I can reach ftp.inf.ethz.ch without any problems... I'll check again at home with a non-ETH IP-address...

good idea. Apparently it locks out anybody outside ETHZ.

I still cannot access ftp.inf.ethz.ch neither with protocol ftp nor http.

FTP:

C:\>ftp ftp.inf.ethz.ch
Verbindung mit ftp.inf.ethz.ch wurde hergestellt.
Verbindung beendet durch Remotehost.

C:\>

HTTP:

Website not found!

The requested URL was not found on this server. If you entered the URL manually please check your spelling and try again.

the latter maybe of no surprise.

For me the ftp site has been inaccessible now for about five days from two different Internet connections using any of IE6, IE7 and Opera.

I had absolutely no problems since end of October, but today, I was not able to establish a connection. I got an error "421 There are too many connections from your internet address." which I had never encounterd with any ftp server.

Maybe it is again a configuration error. In October the admins had locked out non ETHZ addresses ...
