in the current issue of the german computer magazine c't was a notice about Rasperry PI a cheap ARM V6 for educational purpose ...

With a little help of google I found: http://www.raspberrypi.org/ and http://elinux.org/RaspberryPiBoard

Although it is not yet available, are there chances for getting A2 up on such a system?

I think A2 would be much more interesting for teaching than linux ... and ARM shouldn't really pose problems for A2

There is a discussion of emulating raspberry using QEMU: http://www.raspberrypi.org/forum/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=261.0

I've tried to search the forum for ARM, and found that ARM compiler is working but ARM kernel was outdated and excluded from source long time ago. Would it be salvageable ?

hmm, I found in my personal archive a complete copy of Bernhard Egger's stuff,
which was mentioned in the following posts on the mailing list:
https://lists.inf.ethz.ch/pipermail/oberon/2007/005300.html
https://lists.inf.ethz.ch/pipermail/oberon/2007/005303.html
I don't know if and how these files dating back to 2001 and 2002 (some even
back to 199?ies) could be married with the current release ...

and there is SharkOberon in the hidden .beta subdirectory on
the ETHoberon server of ETHZ:
ftp://ftp.ethoberon.ethz.ch/Oberon/System3/Native/SharkOberon/.beta

which might be of some use ...
